Choristor's Creed
from Dr. Carroll Lehman
- I WILL make it a priority to come
to all rehearsals, and plan my schedule around them.
- I WILL be here and in my seat
ready to sing by 7:30 p.m.
- I WILL have warmed up my voice
and be ready to vocalize.
- I WILL sit on the front of my
chair and hold my music high.
- I WILL look at the conductor
frequently.
- I WILL always have a pencil in
hand and mark my score whenever and wherever the conductor indicates I
should do so.
- I WILL keep talking to an
absolute minimum during rehearsals, particularly when another voice part
is working.
- I WILL make every effort to
attend rehearsals when sectionals are being conducted.
- I WILL concentrate, be alert, and
refrain from talking.
- I WILL never, never have
to say "Where are we starting?"
- I WILL faithfully study my music
at home, studying more if I have minimal ability
- I WILL purchase a rehearsal tape
if I have difficulty learning music and USE IT.
- I WILL know the music well
three weeks before the concert.
